Porcelain Veneers and
Crowns
Porcelain Veneers
If you are uncomfortable with your smile because your teeth are
uneven, oddly shaped, chipped, crooked, or have other irregularities,
Porcelain Veneers
offer a natural looking option without braces. Porcelain veneers
are used on front teeth to straighten teeth, change the color or shape
of teeth and even close spaces between teeth.
Veneers
are thin porcelain sheets, which are bonded to the front of existing
teeth. The tooth requires less removal of tooth structure than
with a crown. To provide the ideal overall effect, Dr. Klement
typically applies a group of veneers at the same time. We
sometimes also whiten the adjacent teeth to create a harmonious
effect. The result is a straight, even smile with teeth that are
consistent in color and shape - a beautiful smile that should last for
years to come!

Porcelain Crowns
These are
similar to veneers, but are selected for teeth that are weaker, more
brittle, or worn, or more irregular. Unlike veneers, they are
bonded all the
way around the tooth to add strength and durability. Large-scale
defects in the tooth can be caused by grinding, tooth decay, chipping,
or cracking of the tooth.
Although gold or porcelain-fused-to-gold crowns are still used, all
porcelain crowns from pure ceramic or reinforced ceramic have become
more popular, especially for those obvious when smiling or talking,
and are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
